Louis J. Rogers is the founder and co–chief executive officer of Capital Square and its related entities, where he oversees the firm’s Delaware statutory trust (DST) programs for both Section 1031 exchange and non-exchange investors, as well as investment banking services for property owners. A nationally recognized authority on real estate investment structures and tax-advantaged securities offerings, Rogers is the author of Section 1031 Exchanges: How to Swap Till Ya’ Drop, Building Family Wealth While Minimizing Taxes and frequently serves as a consultant and expert witness on Regulation D private placements, DST and TIC programs, non-traded REITs, and real estate funds. He also serves as chairman and chief executive officer of Capital Square Housing Trust.
Over the course of his career, Rogers has played a central role in the syndication of more than $4 billion in real estate assets across over 100 offerings, spanning multifamily, office, retail, government, and healthcare properties nationwide. Prior to founding Capital Square, he helped build Triple Net Properties into the nation’s largest sponsor of securitized Section 1031 exchange programs and spent nearly two decades as a partner at Hirschler Fleischer, where he founded and led one of the country’s largest real estate securities practice groups. A distinguished attorney, educator, and industry leader, Rogers has received numerous honors for his professional, entrepreneurial, and philanthropic contributions, including repeated recognition on the Virginia 500 Power List and induction into the VCU Real Estate Circle of Excellence.
